The Downtown Mall
Charlottesville's Main Street is now a thriving pedestrian mall. The brick paved mall and the adjacent blocks are lined with specialty shops, art galleries, coffee shops, musical venues, live theatre, a six-screen movie theatre, a children's museum and restaurants. An amphitheater at one end is the home of many concerts including Fridays After Five, a very popular series with varied music. It runs from May to October.
