200 South Street Inn

Charlottesville, Virginia

200 South Street Inn provides lodging in Charlottesville's downtown historic district. It is four miles from Thomas Jefferson's home, Monticello, and one mile from the University of Virginia. 200 South Street Inn is two blocks from a bustling pedestrian mall filled with antique shops, bookstores, movie theaters and restaurants (so good, even the New York Times and Washington Post rave). There is even an indoor ice-skating rink. Besides Monticello, our bed and breakfast is also near two other presidents' homes: Ash Lawn, the home of James Monroe, and James Madison's Montpelier. Twenty- five minutes to the west are the Skyline Drive and the Blue Ridge Parkway, where the beautiful countryside makes for perfect hiking and biking. The Old Michie Tavern, located only a quarter of a mile from Monticello and serving 18th century fare, is a nice stop for lunch. Many wineries in the area welcome visitors.
