Twenty- five minutes to the west are the Skyline Drive and the Blue Ridge Parkway, where the beautiful countryside makes for perfect hiking and biking. The Old Michie Tavern, located only a quarter of a mile from Monticello and serving 18th century fare, is a nice stop for lunch. Many wineries in the area welcome visitors.
